Top 7 Austin Outdoor Wedding Venues

Let’s continue our series on our favorite Austin wedding venues! We love being in the event industry because we get to work with and experience so many amazing venues. The creativity in Austin is unreal!

With springtime right around the corner, we’re going to highlight our favorite Austin outdoor wedding venues today. From ranches to gardens to terraces, Austin has no shortage of amazing outdoor spaces to get hitched. Plus, the city is so lush and green, and the jaw-dropping views make for amazing photos.

We’re going to start with our top seven Austin outdoor wedding venues that are in or relatively close to the city. Stay tuned for our next installments where we’ll go over our favorite lakefront and hill country venues outside of the city!

1. Mattie’s

We love the history behind Mattie’s, a historic southern home turned restaurant and event venue. The grounds have so many amazing spaces to utilize, including two gorgeous pastures for outdoor ceremonies. You can set up the ceremony to face the historic home, or use the massive tree arch as your backdrop.

There’s also a covered pavilion you can use for a ceremony or cocktail hour. If you want a blended outdoor and indoor space, you can have your ceremony on the porch of Marion Hall like Ameyalli and Cris! We love the art-deco look of the porch.

Matties gives couples tons of options to create the wedding of their dreams. The house itself is amazing, and the venue includes several great amenities and rentals to make things easy. Thank you Amber Vickery Photography for the gorgeous photos!

2. The Vineyards at Chappel Lodge

For the ultimate romantic wedding, you’ve got to check out Chappel Lodge. Less than a 30-minute drive from downtown, the vineyard offers breathtaking views and fields of wildflowers! You can take your couple pictures in between the rows of grapes, and if you time your wedding right, you can take advantage of the bluebonnet field.

You can have a completely outdoor wedding by using the tree-canopied ceremony space and then moving the reception to the expansive covered pavilion. If you want an indoor reception, the lodge is great for an intimate seated dinner. The patio at the lodge is also a great place to string up some lights and bring in food trucks!

The versatility is why The Vineyards at Chappel Lodge is one of our favorite Austin outdoor wedding venues. They also specialize in catering to your guest’s needs. They have onsite lodging and offer a bus and parking attendant to help direct your guests to the wedding.

3. The Contemporary Austin - Laguna Gloria

Just five miles from downtown Austin is a jaw-dropping Mediterranean villa and sculpture garden that sits on Lake Austin. Laguna Gloria offers three different outdoor ceremony spaces: the Four Seasons Garden, the Amphitheater, and the intimate Temple of Love.

For your ceremony, you can dance the night away on one of the several stunning terraces. The views and unique architecture make a Laguna Gloria wedding unforgettable!

4. Rambling Rose Ranch

Rambling Rose Ranch is a woman and LGBT-owned wedding venue that’s perfect for outdoor-loving couples. Along with beautiful spaces, like the gorgeous garden pavilion, the ranch is home to several animals! The horses, goats, and dogs on the property offer entertainment and a homey vibe.

The venue has tons of cute spaces, including a secret garden dance floor! The owners, who live on the property, are all about giving their couples freedom. There are no vendor requirements, so you can bring whoever you want. We love this Austin outdoor wedding venue for so many reasons, and one of the best parts is that it’s super affordable and customizable!

Vintage Villas

Whoever said outdoor weddings and streamers don’t mix got it wrong! We love how our white streamers looked at Cory and Jett’s wedding at Vintage Villas. This venue is so dreamy and luxurious, and it’s just outside of the city on Lake Travis.

There are two different lake-front ceremony options: the fairy-tale-inspired gazebo and the modern covered arbor. The indoor reception spaces are just as beautiful with stunning vaulted ceilings, wood beams, and chandeliers covered in greenery.

We are blown away by these photos from Carhart Photography! A full event recap is coming to the blog soon, but in the meantime, check out this amazing venue. Your guests can even stay onsite in luxurious lodging.

Pecan Springs Ranch

Pecan Springs Ranch is a great Austin outdoor wedding venue because it’s close to the city but feels secluded. Nestled on 17-acres of land, the expansive property offers tons of beautiful options for your wedding.

There are multiple tree-covered outdoor ceremony spaces, and the 1800s-era log cabin with the light-up “love” sign is an amazing photo op. The venue is also famous for its drink donkeys, Opie and Sassy.

This venue is 100% Austin. The owners utilized tons of natural materials from the local area to create a gorgeous wedding venue that couples can make their own.

The Sanctuary Event Space

Looking for a venue in the city with amazing natural features? The Sanctuary Event Space is perfectly located in the city. The outdoor ceremony space is surrounded by the huge Live Oak trees that the Texas Hill Country is known for, and they give off plenty of shade to make everyone comfortable. This venue has tons of artistic details, like the ivy-covered ceremony arbor and treetop balcony.

Your wedding has an extra purpose when you host it at the Sanctuary. The venue is a non-profit that benefits the Amala Foundation, an amazing organization that offers youth programs, professional development, and more.
